As an exception to the "damned mob of scribbling
women," Daniel Hawthorne praised Fanny Fern's Ruth Hall for
breaking the mold of the 19th century women displaying "female
delicacy." In celebration of we women, the Pocono-Lehigh group sells
T-shirts emblazoned with "SCRIBBLING WOMAN" on the front. Email the
president at this site and order one for yourself!
Sisters In Crime
- Members of Sisters of Crime are authors, readers, publishers, agents,
booksellers and librarians bound by their affection for the mystery genre and
their support of women who write mysteries.
St. Edmundsbury
website - Connects you to my hometown, Bury St. Edmunds,
Suffolk County, England, and our American Connections. People from the area were some
of the original settlers in America. In 1602 Bartholomew Gosnold from Otley
(20 miles from Bury) led an expedition aboard the "Concord", landed
near Cape Cod, explored the area, naming Martha's Vineyard. In 1607 he
returned with a larger party to create the first permanent settlement from
England at Jamestown in (modern) Virginia. Read USAAF history too.
EPIC Authors
site! EPIC, the Electronically Published Internet Connection, is a
professional organization for published and contracted e-book and print
authors. It was established to provide a strong voice for electronic
publishing.
