THE DRAGONFLY
The Dragonfly is enchanting. I love
historical romance, and I love time-travel. I also enjoy well-written,
clever storytelling, which is precisely what Rosemary Goodwin has done with
this tale. I was reeled in at the very beginning and stayed spellbound until
the very last page.

Cathy is a history professor and is married to Al White. One rainy night
they are in a car accident that sends Cathy back in time. When she wakes,
she finds that she is in the year 620 A.D. There she is found and taken to
an Anglo-Saxon village. This is just the beginning of her journey back in
time. Her knowledge about the future helps her adventures. Although amazed
by what she sees, she worries about her husband and wonders how she will get
back to the time where she belongs.
Rosemary Goodwin has written an imaginative and intriguing adventure that
will send you on an adventure back in time. Thorough research and
interesting true facts, dispersed throughout the story, bring the different
eras to life. This is reinforced by the compelling characters that show what
it was like to live during different times in history. Cathy is a
fascinating character for her ability to adapt and bravely face each of her
trials. Because of the way the story begins I wondered if Cathy was really
experiencing a trip through time. This stirred my curiosity and kept my
interest until the very end.
Throughout the story, THE DRAGONFLY, there is passion and there are many
chances at romance. I enjoyed the fact that Cathy struggled with the
knowledge she has a husband in a different time. These times left me
wondering about what I would do if placed in a similar situation. I found
many surprises throughout the story that added to the conflicting emotions.
THE DRAGONFLY is a remarkable time-travel adventure filled with excitement
and romance. It will appeal to readers that enjoy history because of the
careful research that was involved in creating this story.

"A fascinating adventure through history."
When Cathy races her husband Albert to the car, she has no idea she's about
to be thrown into the adventure of her life. During an accident on the
rain-slicked roads of England, Cathy bangs her head and finds herself
injured, disoriented, and tossed back in time to 620 AD in an Anglo- Saxon
village.
At first, taken into slavery, Cathy soon earns a place of honor as a wise
woman with her modern-day knowledge. She also finds love with Edelbert, a
muscular look-a-like to her beloved Albert. Just as she believes she has
found a life there, fate has other plans. As she suffers another injury,
Cathy is thrown forward in time to 1606 where once again she meets a fellow
who bears a strong resemblance to her husband, who is also soon to leave for
the fated settlement of Jamestown.
Yet another near call carries Cathy to World War II England where her
knowledge of events quickly gets her branded as a spy.
Cathy's travels through history are fascinating. The author does a fabulous
job of recreating each time period with authenticity without seeming to do
so as Cathy and the very personable supporting characters take center stage.
I enjoyed the little contradiction that while Cathy's knowledge of the past
helped her maneuver her way through each time period, at the same time it
was the very thing that got her into trouble. But I have to say what I
admired most was Cathy's interactions with each new incarnation of her
husband and how each developed in a slightly different way, all the while
she yearned for and worried about her first true love.
The Dragonfly is a satisfying adventure through history with a
determined and resilient heroine as your guide.

Rosemary
Goodwins debut novel is a sweet tale of love lost and found, of growth and
redemption, of facing lifes challenges.
With her lush descriptions, she transports her reader from the English
countryside to the wilds of
Maine
and several places in between. The
lavender fields are detailed so lovingly the smell almost comes through the
pages. Angela is an inspiration,
as she struggles against self-doubts and outside influences to finally stand
on her own two feet. Any reader
